In the up-and-coming Glattpark district of Opfikon, Mettler Entwickler AG realised the impressive «Wright Place» project, which was designed by the renowned architects Matti Ragaz Hitz.
The exceptional architecture, combined with a wide range of residential, office, retail, fitness and dining facilities, makes «Wright Place» a desirable destination for discerning patrons looking for something special. This diverse offering is complemented by two basement levels with ancillary rooms and car parking spaces. The location of «Wright Place» is characterised by excellent transport links and its proximity to the centre of Zurich and the airport, which guarantees maximum flexibility.
The project demonstrates prudent urban planning that blends harmoniously into the existing perimeter block development. The striking façade is typified by an interesting combination of three different design concepts. On the street side, a profiled façade made of fibre cement elements envelops the multi-layered building complex. On the second level of the façade, large glass planes are used to emphasise special areas such as entrances and foyers. The expert combination of these different façade types makes it possible to meet different requirements in terms of use and interior design without compromising the uniform character of the building block. Compact façades were used on the rear of the building.
